Here I will endeavor to keep you updated with my everyday emotions as I take part in training sessions and competitions, and as I learn more about this sport I love. Travel with me as I find my way through the sometimes complicated world of para shooting, the highs, lows and frustrations that come with being a para athlete.

Another training day yesterday, this time with Welsh Airgun Association.
The day started well, I managed to start with a better score than I'd had for a while. After a break, I went back to it to concentrate some more on my approach. A tweak to my frame and stool, and I was ready to go again. Again, I increased on my previous score and was feeling quite happy that I was finally starting to get a grip on my approach and hold whilst taking a shot.
Had a nice leisurely lunch then wanted to do more practice as we had a final coming up later. I settled in again, and everything just seemed to click. After 60 shots I'd managed to get a new training PB for my R4 standing discipline and break the 620 glass ceiling. To say I was happy is an understatement.
Lastly we had a final. after the first series of 5 shots I was in 4th place, but managed to pull it back with the second series and land in 1st place. I held on to this for the rest of the final (to my surprise) and won a closely fought final.
Two training weekends, two PBs. Pretty happy at the moment.

So here we are at the end of the second week of this new year. Already, I have had a Talent Academy training camp. I had a good weekend with my groups getting tighter in R4 and a new training PB in R5.
Another training camp coming up, this time with Welsh Airgun then competitions next month. A busy time coming up.
